The Shepherd's Hut Pinot Noir has been growing in popularity with each passing vintage. Whether this is because Pinot is becoming a more trendy wine in mainstream circles, or because word has got around, I don't know! One thing I can say for sure, is that every year we are thrilled with how our Pinot turns out... until the following vintage, when we try its successor and tastes even better! John Jens (of Lamont's Cottesloe) discovered our Pinot back when we were selling the 2017 vintage. He lamented that we were selling our product far too cheaply, and insisted on buying it at a price closer to what he perceived as its real wholesale value. He has been an enthusiastic supporter of ours since then and has sold over 90 cases of our Pinot! Then recently, we were fortunate enough to receive a stellar review for our Pinot Noir in the Subiaco Post, from wine-judge and writer, Erin Larkin. Following this, a number of independent retailers ordered some for their shelves and we have sold out within a month! Lucky for all of you Pinot enthusiasts out there, our 2019 Pinot Noir is here and nearly ready to go. According to our winemaker, Rob Diletti, it is the best yet!
